For as long as I can remember, baking has been a part of my world. My grandmother would also let me help her in the kitchen and those memories are so precious to me! She taught me how to make cookies and cakes and help me understand more about how soothing being in the kitchen can be. Years later I found myself turning my grandmothers passion into a job.
Decorating sugar cookies is were where I found creativity, comfort, and connection. It’s been many years of decorating cookies, teaching others, creating designs, exploring color palettes, experimenting with techniques, and sharing it all online. My identity as a baker became woven into everything I did.
But over the last year, something in my heart started to shift.
I found myself craving softer days. Slower mornings. More intentional living. More time spent around the table, not just making cookies for others — but creating a home and a life that felt warm, steady, and comforting for me and my family.
I realized I wasn’t falling out of love with baking…
I was simply growing beyond the box I had put myself in.
Cookies will always be a part of who I am. I’ll still bake, still share recipes, still enjoy the process — but I want the freedom to share more than that. The cozy things in the kitchen. The calm rhythms. The lifestyle that surrounds the baking. The moments that make a home feel lived-in and loved.
And so, after a lot of reflection, I decided it was time to pivot.
That’s where the name Amy at the Table came from.
It’s a reminder that life happens in the ordinary spaces — around cups of coffee, stacks of cookbooks, messy counters, warm meals, and quiet creativity. It allows me to bring all parts of myself forward: the baker, the homemaker, the creator, the woman choosing a slower, steadier way of living. And don’t forget cozy!
This transition isn’t me stepping away from baking…
It’s me stepping into a fuller version of it.
A life that holds space for sweet treats and simple joys.
I want this blog — and everything I create from here — to feel like a seat at my table. Cozy, warm, honest, and real. A place where we bake, rest, learn, grow, and enjoy the little things that make life feel meaningful.
Thank you for being here through the seasons.
And welcome to this new one. 🤎
Here’s to slow living, sweet treats, and simple joys — together.
If you’re reading this and feeling that tug for something new — something softer, slower, or more true to who you’re becoming — I hope my pivot reminds you that it’s okay to change. It’s okay to outgrow old seasons. It’s okay to step into a life that feels more aligned, even if it means letting go of something you once loved.
You’re allowed to evolve.
You’re allowed to rewrite your story.
And you’re allowed to choose a life that feels warm, cozy, and deeply yours.
Here’s to new beginnings, gentle shifts, and giving ourselves the freedom to follow what feels right — one small step at a time. 🤎
Amy
